Nvidia has released a new video on pathtracing technology called “RTX Mega Geometry.” It also promises realistic forests in The Witcher 4.

With the help of path tracing, great strides have been made in recent years in the lighting of game worlds. “RTX Mega Geometry” is another step on the road to photorealism.

Millions of individual polygons are grouped into clusters, which should significantly improve performance and reduce hardware requirements.

In The Witcher 4, forests calculated entirely with path tracing are to be created. Due to their complex geometry, forests have always been considered one of the biggest problems in realistic lighting.
