Big mid-patch in LoL: Riot pulls the Jungle emergency brake before winter break

Before the winter break there was another big update in League of Legends. In patch 12.23b, the strong tank junglers were addressed in particular.

Some tank junglers were just too strong in League of Legends after the balancing attempt in patch 12.23.

Patch 12.23b is the last one this year and brings some more changes to the Gap and Ravine.

Tank Jungler too strong

The unnecessarily high winrates of certain junglers and the disproportionate distribution of damage and life in tank junglers resulted in many of them getting major adjustments.

Dr. Mundo:

  • Basic health regeneration growth: 0.75 ⇒ 0.55
  • Passive health loss: 3 % of current life ⇒ 4 % of current life
  • Passive additional maximum life regeneration: 0.4 – 2.5 ⇒ 0.4 – 2.3
  • Q – Health cost: 60 on all ranks ⇒ 50/60/70/80/90
  • E – Health cost: 20/30/40/50/60 ⇒ 10/25/40/55/70
  • R – Cooldown: 110 seconds ⇒ 120 seconds

Hecarim:

  • Q – Percent bonus damage per stack: 4% (+5% per 100 bonus AD) ⇒ 3% (+4% per 100 bonus AD)

Rammus:

  • W – Cooldown: 6 seconds ⇒ 7 seconds
  • W – Bonus Armour: 50 ⇒ 40
  • W – additional magic resistance 15 ⇒ 10

Lillia:

  • Passive health damage in per cent: 6 % ⇒ 5 %.
  • Q – Magic damage: 40/50/60/70/80 (+ 40 % AP) ⇒ 35/45/55/65/75 (+ 40 % AP)
  • Q – Outer edge absolute damage: 40/50/60/70/80 (+ 40 % AP) ⇒ 35/45/55/65/75 (+ 40 % AP)

Nilah:

  • Q – physical damage: 5/10/15/20/25 (+90/100/110/120/130 % total AD) ⇒ 5/10/15/20/25 (+90/97.5/105/112.5/120 % total AD).
  • Increase Q damage based on critical hit chance: 0-100 %, scaled by critical chance ⇒ 0-120 %.
  • Q – passive healing on simple and formless blade attacks against champions : 0-15 % damage after debuff, scaled with critical chance ⇒ 0-20 % damage after debuff.
  • R – Damage over time: 15/30/45 (+35 % additional attack damage) ⇒ 15/30/45 (+28 % additional attack damage).
  • R – Total damage: 185/345/505 (+260 % additional attack damage) ⇒ 185/345/505 (+232 % additional attack damage).
  • R – Heal: 30-45 % damage after debuff, scaled by critical chance ⇒ 20-50 % damage after debuff

Udyr:

  • W/E/R mana cost: 45-28 (levels 1-18) ⇒ 40-23 (levels 1-18).
  • Q – bonus physical damage: 3/4.4/5.8/7.2/8.6/10% (+6% per 100 bonus AD) of the target’s maximum life ⇒ 3/4/5/6/7/8% (+5% per 100 bonus.) AD) of the target’s maximum health.
  • Q – additional physical damage on hit: 5/13/21/28/37/45 (+20 % additional attack damage) ⇒ 5/11/17/23/29/35 (+30 % additional attack damage).
  • Q – awakened physical damage: 2% – 5% (+3% per 100 bonus AD) of the target’s maximum life ⇒ 2% – 4% (+2% per 100 bonus AD) of the target’s maximum life.
  • R – Base damage per tick: 10/18/26/34/42/50 ⇒ 10/20/30/40/50/60

Lux is the only champion to get Buff

Zed, Janna and Lux also got some adjustments.

Zed:

  • Q – basic physical damage: 80/115/150/185/220 ⇒ 70/105/140/175/210
  • E – cooldown: 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 seconds ⇒ 5/4.75/4.5/4.25/4 seconds
  • E – base physical damage: 70/90/110/130/150 ⇒ 65/85/105/125/145

Janna:

  • Passive additional movement speed 8 % ⇒ 6 %.
  • E – Bonus AP: 10/17.5/25/32.5/40 (+10 % AP) ⇒ 10/15/20/25/30 (+10 % AP)

Lux: 

  • E – AP ratio increased: 70/120/170/220/270 (+ 70 % AP) ⇒ 70/120/170/220/270 (+ 80 % AP)
  • R – AP ratio increased: 300/400/500 (+ 100 % AP) ⇒ 300/400/500 (+ 120 % AP)

Item adjustments and Jungle

Pets-Nerf

Riot also took the opportunity of the mid-patch to adjust a few items and Jungle Pets.

Jak’Sho, the protector:

  • Combined cost: 600 ⇒ 700
  • Total cost: 3000 ⇒ 3100
  • Armor and MR per second in combat with champions: 3 ⇒ 2

Tiamat:

  • Stroke Damage: 50% total melee/25% total ranged ⇒ 40% total melee/20% total ranged

Ravenous Hydra: 

  • Stroke damage: 50% total melee/25% total ranged ⇒ 40% total melee/20% total ranged
  • Sickle stack loss on death: 50 % ⇒ 60 %

Lord Dominik’s greetings:

  • Giant Butcher bonus damage: 0%-15% (based on maximum health difference) ⇒ 0%-25% (based on maximum health difference).
  • Giant Slayer maximum health difference damage: 2000 ⇒ 2500

Storm edge:

  • attack damage: 40 ⇒ 45

Jungle Pets:

  • Damage reduction for epic monsters: 30% ⇒ 20%
  • Gold per Treat: 35 ⇒ 30
  • Mosstomper shield: 75-330 ⇒ 60-281

In addition, there were a few ARAM adjustments, gold changes to jungle camps and the obligatory bug fixes.
