At Gamescom 2026, Nvidia introduced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction to its in-house app, which is designed to improve image reconstruction.

From one trade show to the next: At Computex 2026, Nvidia unveiled DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and cited August 2026 as a rough release window.

Just in time for Gamescom 2026, the rollout begins: As the company explains, the new version of the neural denoising process is now available in select games.

It was all over the news

Even without the original announcement, this comes as no surprise: Theofficial Nvidia GeForce X account recently highlighted the GeForce On Community Update, which took place on August 25 at 5 p.m. German time.

In addition, Preset F—required for DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction—was already present in the current beta version of Modern Warfare 4, asVideocardz reported.

You can now see the same thing (after an update) in the Nvidia app: Under “Graphics → Program Settings,” select the compatible game; under “Driver Settings → DLSS Override – Model Presets → Ray Reconstruction,” you can then select Preset F.

Essentially, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction delivers improved image reconstruction, just as Nvidia promised at the time of the announcement. The new version is expected to provide around 35 percent more computational power and be able to process up to 20 percent more parameters without significantly increasing system load.

  • In addition, the new Ray Reconstruction benefits from an even larger training dataset, which is intended to make the aforementioned image reconstruction more precise.
  • Developers also gain more control over how heavily previous frames are factored into the calculation of new images.

Examples of the final result include *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle* and *Alan Wake 2*; in these games, weather particles are expected to be free of ghosting effects, and specific lighting scenarios will be more frame-stable.

At least two titles will be added to the original list of 27 games set to feature DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction at launch as early as next month: Both 007 First Light and the upcoming Control Resonant will receive the option for improved image reconstruction on September 15 and 24, respectively.

There’s also good news for modders in this context: The platform known as RTX Remix, which is used for manually remastering games, will also gain the ability to switch to DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction.
