There are some exciting new features for Lost Ark players in May. We give you an overview of the most important contents.

Update from 12 May 2022: The big May update is casting its shadow ahead. Today, only a small update will be applied as part of the weekly maintenance work, but it will make important changes in the background, so that the big content boost will arrive smoothly to the players next week.

The downtime starts on 12 May at 9am and is expected to last until 1pm

At least one bug fix is already waiting for you in it: A bug that could lead to the PvP leaderboard not being loaded correctly should be a thing of the past after the current downtime.

To find out what will change in Lost Ark with the big May update, just keep reading. Have fun, and feel free to leave your opinion on the new content in the comments!

Original article from 08 May 2022: The developers of Lost Ark are still working hard on the MMO and give the players new content every month. In May 2022 you can again look forward to some exciting content. Among other things, the first Legion Raid is coming to the West, which will demand a lot from you and your team of eight players. We provide you with an overview.

If you are still waiting for the (Raid Argos), we have the right guide for you to complete it with flying colours:

The first legion raid in the western version of Lost Ark is named Valtan and will bring with it a whole new set of mechanics. The raid is designed for eight players and, thanks to its length, contains two portals (checkpoints) that save your progress.

There will also be a new gear level called Relic The materials you will need to complete the raid will be available to all players. The materials you need to create relic armour can all be found in the Valtan raid. The armour contains higher weapon bonuses, bonus stats and engraving veins for accessories.

You will need these item levels for the raid:

  • Normal Mode: 1415
  • Hard mode: 1445

Further, however, there will also be a new Guardian Raid: Deskaluda As with the previous Guardian Raids, you can try to defeat the creature alone or in a group of no more than three players. Of course, you can also use the match search again. As in the Valtan raid, you also have the opportunity to earn relic-quality accessories with a little luck. For Deskaluda you need the following item level:

  • Normal Mode: 1415

The new advanced class of destroyer

The Destroyer is another melee class and is the now fourth subclass of the Warrior. This one is supposed to be perfect for being in the thick of the fight. The Destroyer brings some new abilities with it, which slow down or hurl away enemies, for example. In large groups of enemies, it can also cause massive stagger damage and immobilise the enemies for a while.

An alternative to the same old fantasy wardrobe

Tired of dangerous-looking warrior and mage armour and would rather fight monsters in casual street clothes? The May update brings the right outfits with Neria’s wardrobe, in which you will not only have more legroom, but also look like the neighbour next door.

However, the skins can only be purchased in the in-game shop for real money and are only active for one month.

More content for May

Exam Guardian Raids

One of the new weekly activities is the Exam Guardian Raids. Each week you can try to defeat up to three Guardians and steal valuable loot from them. By using the Scale of Balance your character’s item level will be adjusted to that of your opponent. You can collect the reward of a victory once per squad. However, keep in mind that you will not be able to use the Battle Workshop during the trial.

If you want to know why Gloria is trapped in an eternal conflict as long as she has Lost Ark on her hard drive, you should definitely read this column:

New Activities

The South Vern area is being turned upside down and getting some new content:

  • Chaos line difficult mode
  • Thunder Wing Area Boss
  • Chaos Portal
  • Ghost Ship
  • Chaos Dungeons

In addition, you can take part in a new event on Wildwing Island where a giant golden rooster is up to no good. There you can earn event coins in co-op or on your own.

May also brings some exciting activities for guilds:

  • Siege of the Island: A PvP mode where guilds compete against each other.
  • Raid Match: PvE battle against the Sylmael Devourer. The faster you finish off the creature, the higher you climb in the guild rankings.

Comfort and Balance Changes

But in addition to all the great content, there are also quite a few comfort changes. Among others, a display for frontal and ambush attacks, an overview of the participations in weekly content, general UI updates and much more.

Furthermore, some balance changes are also being made to the advanced classes and will also go live with the release of the new Destroyer class.

What do you think of all the content coming your way in May? Is there one thing in particular you’re looking forward to, or would you rather have seen something else? Let us know in the comments
