Developer Bit Reactor is also lowering the cost of base upgrades and allowing players to flexibly adjust injury limits and health point scaling.
Patch 1.2 for Star Wars: Zero Company makes further adjustments to the difficulty system and introduces new options to complement the existing difficulty levels.
With these new features, you can make your virtual mercenary life a whole lot harder. For example, it’s possible to completely disable the injury system so that incapacitated agents die immediately.
Permadeath and Respec Restrictions: Modifiers for Hardcore Tacticians
Alternatively, you can lower the injury limit to the point of permadeath or add an immediate risk of death as soon as a unit goes down. The update also allows you to reduce or completely disable health scaling—as a result, agents can withstand significantly less damage toward the end of the game. The respec feature can also be gradually restricted, up to and including a ban on class or even weapon changes.
These options effectively limit your in-game possibilities. For example, you can select the standard difficulty level and supplement it with one of these modifiers if you don’t want to jump straight into the next challenge tier.
Aside from that, the update—as you can see in the official patch notes—includes a number of bug fixes.
Cheaper Base Upgrades: Bit Reactor Eases the Credit Restrictions on Build Slots
The development studio is also reducing the cost of upgrades for your base across the board, which affects the effectiveness of weapons, crew, and hideout perks alike.
“Originally, the Upgrade Facility was intended to encourage exciting strategic decisions regarding build slots,” writes Bit Reactor. “However, after release, our data showed that many players barely engaged with this feature—simply because they often lacked the necessary credits. We’re convinced that across-the-board cost reductions will make build slots significantly more appealing. This is especially true once you unlock the ability to research multiple upgrades simultaneously.”
