Among other things, the new patch introduces additional pets and a quality-of-life feature for your Graymane’s dispatch missions.
Sometimes game updates come with unintended side effects, leaving players wondering things like, “Where did my underwear go?”, as was recently the case withCrimson Desert
Developers usually patch these issues later, but ideally, patches should fix problems directly rather than cause them. And that’s exactly the case withPatch 1.09, which was rolled out on May 29, 2026, for the open-world game.
Here we present the most important changes, and onpage 2you’ll find the complete patch notes.
Pets and those damn dispatch missions!
New in Update 1.09: If you play Crimson Desert with a gamepad, you now have the option to remap the buttons. With such complex controls, this is incredibly helpful.
In addition, 30 new types of small animals have been added that you can register as pets. Kliff also has new pick-up and drop-off animations in store for some of your loyal companions.
The secondary playable characters Oongka and Damiane have also received a little love with new abilities. You activate these the same way you use Kliff’s “Storm Slash” ability.
New UI for Dispatch Missions: Perhaps the missions in your Graymane Camp have already given you stress lines on your forehead. They are designed as passive side quests that you assign to your companions to earn various rewards.
However, each dispatch mission comes with specific requirements, and not all of your companions are suited for everything—Yann, for example, is good for practically nothing.
Until now, you had to manually sift through a list of over 60 Greymane characters to figure out who was even suitable for which of the dozens of missions. Patch 1.09 now adds a little quality-of-life polish here:

From now on, the Greybeards suitable for a mission will be displayed at the top of the list. This is especially handy because having the right skills lets you get more rewards from the mission. For the Harvesting Mission: Cabbage, Greybeards with harvesting skills—such as Devan and Evelyn—are the best fit.
This saves you a lot of bureaucratic hassle, giving you more time for the important things in Crimson Desert.
