For tomorrow’s weekly reboot, Blizzard announced massive changes for dungeons and the Castle Nathria raid. Here are the patch notes.

Since mid-December, you’ve been able to jump into the first Castle Nathria raid in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, as well as level up your keystone and face increasingly difficult Mythic-Plus dungeons in the first season. So far, however, this has been anything but easy, and you’ve probably already suffered a death or two with your party.

This problem is now to be remedied, at least partially. In a post in the official WoW forum, Blizzard announced massive changes to many dungeons and the raid in Castle Nathria at short notice. Many of the changes weaken bosses or rob them of some of their health.

Necrotic aisle is weakened the most

The list of changes to the Necrotic Aisle dungeon is long. Not only bosses like Plague Bone or Amaranth the Harvester are generated here, but also quite normal enemies like the Morse Bone Crossbowman deal 20 percent less damage with the new changes.

With this, Blizzard is putting a band-aid over a wound that has been gaping for a long time for many players. Necrotic Lane is one of the most unpopular dungeons in Shadowlands because of its strong enemies.

A lot of positive feedback about the changes

On Reddit, as well as in the comments under the forum post and on wowhead, there are many positive voices about the changes. Many think it’s the right step to lower the difficulty a bit.

Buddyshrews writes on Reddit:

"I think these are mostly good changes for Mythic Plus dungeons. It seems like they addressed the biggest difficulties with these nerfs. I hope these adjustments make Tyrannical dungeons less stressful and annoying."

Cyfaeras is also positive, but would like to see more changes:

"These look like good changes! However, more toning down to the Bloody Depths couldn't hurt."

Brochettar, on the other hand, also wants to go a step further:

"The changes are definitely a good start. What we need now are class changes focused on mythic plus. As well as a higher item level for items from M+ chests at the end of the dungeon. "

The loot problem, in addition to the many positive voices, continues to be criticized in the same breath. Many players are frustrated when they dust off too few or no useful items at the end of dungeons. Blizzard needs to improve this as well, in their eyes.

Along with the raid and dungeon changes, PvP will also be tweaked on January 27. Here, too, you’ll have to make do with a few nerfs that mainly affect paladins, druids, and mages.
