In a few weeks we return to the beginning of one of the most famous horror series. In Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City we experience young, inexperienced protagonists and once again encounter a deadly virus. For a few days now, Sony has been sharing short videos introducing the characters of the reboot.

On 25 November, fans will meet heroes who are still quite inexperienced, such as Alice Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. For in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, the story of the Umbrella Corporation is only just beginning.
The year is 1998, and the Umbrella Corporation has retreated from its headquarters in Raccoon City, leaving behind a nice parting gift. Zombies are rising from the depths and threatening not only to destroy the entire city. Fortunately, a few brave heroes are on hand to rescue Raccoon City from this pestilence. To get to know these heroes (and their adversaries) better, some “character vignettes” have been released in the last few days. These introduce the central characters of the film.

Leon S. Kennedy, for example, is a hero against his will at the beginning of his zombie-killing mission, coming across as awkward. But those who know the games and this daredevil policeman know that this tide will turn.
Also taking part in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City are the two siblings Claire and Chris Redfield. While Claire stands out for her rebellious streak, the modest small-town hero Chris has to learn to rise above himself.

The antagonist in Resident Evil

Naturally, every story also needs a villain. This is served by the well-known villain Albert Wesker. In the course of the film, we get to know the “real guy behind the sunglasses” and experience his development into the person that many fans know from the games.

During the individual screenings, actor and director Johannes Roberts never tire of emphasising that in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City the storylines of the video games play in the foreground. In contrast to the series with Mila Jovovich, they now want to lean more closely on the games.

Whether the filmmakers will succeed in this approach, you will find out on 25 November, when Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City hits the cinemas. We hope you have fun watching it.
