Moon Studios needs more time for fine-tuning and new beta testing. Those who own the action RPG in Early Access can look forward to a Founders Pack.
Version 1.0 of Moon Studios’ No Rest for the Wicked will no longer be released in October, but rather in March 2027.
This primarily affects the PC and PlayStation 5 versions—the Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions still have no release date.
Polishing and Beta Phases: How Moon Studios Is Bridging the Wait
As thestudio reports, it plans to implement numerous optimizations and put the finishing touches on version 1.0 by then. This should improve gameplay performance, and adjustments to the class system are also planned.
In addition to the Early Access version available on Steam, there will also be closed beta tests in the coming months and an open beta in December. Moon Studios hopes to gather further feedback from players through these tests.
The studio plans to keep you updated on progress via thestudio’s YouTube channel. Here, the studio offers longer, more in-depth insights into *No Rest for the Wicked*, a behind-the-scenes look, and explains the thinking behind design decisions.
New Deadline for the Founders Pack and Updates on the Console Versions
The developers had previously confirmed that early buyers would receive a Founders Pack. This includes various in-game items as a thank-you for their support. Originally, the deadline for purchasing and unlocking the Founders Pack was July 10. For PC players, this date has now been moved to January 1, 2027. Anyone who purchased the game after July 10 will automatically qualify retroactively. Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 will begin in January.
In July, I spoke with Moon Studios’ CEO Thomas Mahler about, among other things, the release, classes, and the new endgame in *No Rest for the Wicked*. He also explained why development for Xbox and Switch 2 is taking longer.
