The action role-playing game, including all updates released to date, will be available in early December. The Ascendance expansion will also be coming to the console.
During this afternoon’s Direct presentation, Capcom confirmed the official release date for Monster Hunter Wilds on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Accordingly, the action RPG will be released on December 4, 2026, for the Nintendo console.
The Switch 2 version will include all previous game updates and also support local play. Additionally, you’ll be able to team up with others locally and online, even if they’re playing on different platforms.
The content included in the game updates features, among other things, the Great Site, fan-favorite monsters like Mizutsune and Lagiacrus, the collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV Online, and more.
It has also been confirmed that the expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is coming to Nintendo’s console—more details will follow in 2027.
A port of Monster Hunter Wilds for the Switch 2 was officially confirmed in June. Let’s hope Capcom succeeds in bringing the game to Nintendo’s console. After the title’s initial release in February 2025, the PC version in particular struggled with a wide variety of issues for a long time, including performance-related problems.
