Brick Shop announced a new set based on the Halo M12 Warthog at San Diego Comic-Con, and if it delivers on its promises, it’s an absolute fan’s dream.
Last year, the U.S. toy manufacturer Mattel launched the new brick-building brand Brick Shop, which has since mainly released Hot Wheels sets. Now, Brick Shop has announced a new collaboration between Hot Wheels and the legendary first-person shooter franchise Halo, and is releasing the equally legendaryWarthog M12 as a building block model.
As is typical for Brick Shop, the model comes with printed bricks, metal parts, and a small toy model.

Additional details: In addition to the main set, over 40 extra bricks are included, allowing you to customize the M12 Warthog to your liking. Two complete sets of wheel rims with different designs are also included. Both are made entirely of metal.
Cool Extra: Just like with all other sets released through the Hot Wheels theme world at Brick Shop, the model is also included as a real Hot Wheels car in 1:64 scale.
Top Value for Money: In the past, Brick Shop has used excellent bricks that can easily compete with manufacturers like Lego and Gobricks. On top of that, all bricks are printed with additional designs—and at a suggested retail price of 7.5 cents per piece. That’s fantastic even by Brick Shop’s standards, where piece prices are usually around 10 cents.
For comparison: At Lego, licensed sets are rarely available for less than 9 cents per piece. And even at BlueBrixx, licensed sets typically cost 8 cents.
On top of that, the M12 Warthog is sold on the open market, so significant discounts are guaranteed. With a little patience, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting the set for 50 euros or less.
Fantastic attention to detail with one downside: The Brick Shop set stays true to its source material across the board. However, this is partly due to the use of many very specialized parts. Anyone who appreciates the original concept behind building blocks—creating complex structures from simple bricks—will therefore be a little disappointed.
Before Brick Shop, Mattel owned the Mega building block brand, formerly known as Mega Construx. Even back then, there were Halo sets, complete with minifigures. You can still buy some of them online at the original price.
