In addition to 1440p resolution, this dark road trip offers a fair upgrade path: A limited-time eShop discount significantly lowers the starting price.
More and more titles are getting their own Nintendo Switch 2 version, and the roguelike role-playing game Darkest Dungeon 2 has recently joined the list.
You can now get the native version of the game for 41.48 euros in the console’s eShop. If you’ve already purchased the Switch version, an upgrade is available—though it’s not free.
The upgrade costs 2.49 euros, so it doesn’t require a huge investment. An affordable way to get the Switch 2 version is still available for several more days. The version for the previous-generation console is still available in the eShop for 12.08 euros through October 27, 2026. Combined with the upgrade, you’ll end up paying significantly less.

“Road Trip of the Damned”: The Success Formula Behind Darkest Dungeon 2
Darkest Dungeon 2 was originally released in 2023 and boasts an impressive score of 81 on Metacritic. The game first launched on PC, followed a year later by versions for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
The developers describe the game as a “Road Trip of the Damned.” You assemble a party, equip your carriage, and travel through the crumbling landscape—it’s your chance to avert the apocalypse. An expedition can last anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours—you never know in advance. But even if you fail early on, you’ll receive resources that will strengthen you for the next journey.
