It’s Midweek Madness again on Wednesday. And this time there are not only big discounts on Steam, but also a sale on GOG.

After the last sale week on Steam, a bit of calm returns. Nevertheless, numerous exciting offers are waiting for you to pull out your wallet for this Midweek Madness from 23 March. We’ll help you keep track of them and find the best discounts.

There is also a big spring sale going on at GOG, you can read more about it below in this article. Have fun browsing!

Highlight of the week: Life is Strange: True Colors

(Genre: Adventure – Developer: Deck Nine Games – Release: 10 September 2021 – Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia – Price: 30 euros (50 percent discount) – Offer ends: 24 March 2022)

(Steam) (Humble)

Like every game in the adventure series, Life is Strange: True Colors is about big emotions, life’s important questions and more or less lovable teenagers. This time you play a completely new character who has hardly anything in common with Max, Chloe or Sean: You are Alex Chen, a supernaturally gifted empath.

In the tranquil mining town of Haven Springs, you want to start a new life, because until now you spent your childhood in a foster home for orphans. Alex moves in with her big brother, who immediately introduces her to the town’s inhabitants. It could all be so wonderful – but then you are struck by a heavy blow of fate that could once again uproot Alex.

For the first time, you will explore an open game world in the LiS universe, which does not have to take a back seat to Arcadia Bay in terms of atmosphere and richness of detail. Alex’s special ability allows you to sense or even manipulate the feelings of others, which sometimes confronts you with really difficult moral questions. In the test you can read how much of the old magic is really in here:

More exciting offers of the week

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: If you’re really up for some cool Star Wars stories again after Book of Boba Fett and the Reveal of the Obi-Wan series, be sure to grab this one. The Deluxe Edition is on sale on Steam (80 percent off at 10 euros).

(Steam) (Humble)

Black Mesa: Heavily impressive fan remake of the legendary Half-Life. In the meantime, the final content update 1.5 has also been released (reduced by 50 percent to 7.50 euros).

(Steam)

FIFA 22: Could have been EA’s last FIFA game, as the exclusive collaboration was terminated in 2021. Our expert Fabiano is melancholy about the changes (reduced by 67 percent to 20 euros).

(Steam)

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Big story surprise that might even win over non-Marvel fans. The battles in the action adventure could be a bit more varied, but they look – and sound – great (reduced by 50 per cent to 30 euros).

(Steam) (Humble)

Why Guardians of the Galaxy surprised us when we played it

It Takes Two: The moving co-op masterpiece was already on sale last week, now you have the last chance to get it dirt cheap (reduced by 60 percent to 16 Euros).

(Steam)

Red Dead Redemption 2: No other game offers a comparably lively western world. NPCs and wild animals behave in an uncannily believable way, the landscapes look like something out of a travel catalogue. And the story about Arthur Morgan is also good. By the way, Red Dead Online is also discounted (by 50 per cent, now 30 euros).

(Steam) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

NieR: Automata and Replicant: The complex JRPG and its prequel can also be played independently of each other. Both put you in an exciting post-apocalyptic world, through which you fight your way in fast-paced battles. The game drove our JRPG expert Dimi up the wall, but he still highly recommends it (50 percent off, currently 20 and 30 euros respectively).

(Steam) (Humble)

Battlefield 1: Has gathered a considerable community (again) in recent months because many consider it a better alternative to the dying Battlefield 2042. Which, by the way, is also on sale and 50 percent off. (BF1 reduced by 75 percent to 10 euros)

(Steam)

Alice: Madness Returns: Only back on Steam for a few weeks after an absence of years. The surreal and at times quite disturbing action adventure already won loyal fans back then on PS3 (60 percent cheaper, costing just 8 euros).

(Steam)

Star Wars: Squadrons: More Star Wars, but this time for cockpit enthusiasts. In this complex flight sim, you get behind the controls of an X-Wing or Tie-Fighter. VR mode is also supported (75 per cent reduced to 10 euros).

(Steam)

Mass Effect: Andromeda: Not the most popular part of the role-playing game series, but also not as mixed as it was at the time of the bumpy release. By the way, the next Mass Effect is already in the works and brings back old acquaintances (reduced by 84 percent to 5 euros).

(Steam)

Cloudpunk: If you are looking for exciting entertainment in between, swing by the cyberpunk metropolis Nivalis. There you can make secret deliveries by air taxi (reduced by 60 per cent to 8 euros).

(Steam) (GOG)

Tainted Grail: Conquest: Mix of deckbuilder, role-playing game and roguelike, which reinterprets the Arthurian saga in a gloomy fantasy garb (reduced by 50 percent, just costs 8.40 Euro).

(Steam) (GOG)

Big Sale at GOG

This time, not only on Steam, but also on GOG numerous games are heavily reduced. There, the Spring Games Festival is running until 4 April 2022, with over 4000 games on offer. You can also find many free demos for upcoming titles there. A few discount highlights, as always DRM-free:

Cyberpunk 2077 is 50 percent off and costs only 30 Euro

(GOG)

Disco Elysium, the best role-playing game of 2019, is 60 per cent off at £16

(GOG)

You can currently get

XCOM 2 with a 95 percent discount for a ridiculously cheap 3 euros. It still deserves a place among the best strategy games today:
