To celebrate the anniversary, Respawn is introducing a Bloodhound rework, corrupted attachments, and a revamp of the popular World’s Edge map.

A new update forApex Legendsis on the horizon. With “Marked,” Electronic Arts and Respawn are marking the 30th season of the battle royale. For this—yes, you could call it an anniversary—Bloodhound is getting a rework, there are buffs for Loba and Rampart, the Energy System weapon arsenal is being redesigned, special corrupted weapon attachments are coming to the game, and World’s Edge is also getting a fresh look. Of course, you can also expect improvements in gameplay comfort and performance.

Apex Legends Aims to Make Bloodhound Popular Again

As the team writes, all of this is being done to “make Apex Legends the best and most competitive battle royale game on the market.” That’s the kind of ambition we’re used to seeing in major competitive titles.

In apost about the update, the developers explain why they’re restructuring World’s Edge. It states: “We believe that World’s Edge is well-positioned in terms of competition—an assessment that is also shared by the community. Therefore, our focus in revamping the map was on reducing the differences between the various POIs and addressing frequently requested player feedback, such as the return of ‘Sorting Factory’ and ‘Construction Stacks.’ In line with Bloodhound’s rework, we’ve also used the new POIs in this update to meaningfully advance Bloodhound’s story.”

Speaking of him: What exactly is going to change with Bloodhound? When your own Apex main is affected, typing feels different right away. A slight tremor, slightly sweaty fingertips. How bad is it going to get? Will I even recognize my beloved agent afterward?

Bloodhound came under the spotlight because he was barely played at all at the Gold rank and above. The changes are meant to make him more appealing to the really skilled players—so not for me. Too bad. His brand-new ultimate gives him a stealth option that lets you and your squad ambush other teams. Or you can use it to make a quick getaway when things get dicey. His keen sense of smell—that is, his reconnaissance abilities—continues to help him keep an eye on the battlefield. Let’s see if this new version still suits me.

The Corrupted Attachments are the last major change. They open up new possibilities, but you’ll need to be careful when using them: “Through a unique combination of powerful enhancements and negative effects on stats, the weapon’s performance is altered and its effectiveness specialized. Since only one corrupted attachment is allowed per weapon, players must make tactical decisions regarding their preferred loadout,” the post states. New possibilities are always welcome, of course.
