This is what Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is supposed to be about

Finally we have a first teaser trailer for the next single player game in the Star Wars universe from EA. At the currently running Star Wars Celebration the speculations were put to an end. The successor to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. We summarise the first information for you.

What Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be about
In the second part of the action adventure with Souls touches, we will have to fight against the Empire as Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis. The teaser prepares us for the fact that Cal will probably have to resist the temptation of the Dark Side of the Force. The antagonist has also been shown, possibly a Sith, but definitely someone who, similar to the finale of Fallen Order, wants to pull Cal to his side. Because even the Dark Side and the Empire know that breaking a Jedi is more useful, maybe even easier, than fighting one.

But the biggest surprise was probably the announcement that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will pick up the events of the prequel 5 years later! A big time jump, though not inappropriate. After all, this offers scope to experience a now far more powerful and tested Cal Kestis. Who, together with his crew, has probably experienced quite a few adventures in the last few years, which might still be decisive for the course of the game or give impetus to the main story of the game.

The release date has also been confirmed. We will have to wait until 2023 for Survivors to be released exclusively for the last-gen consoles and PC. Until then, however, more information and gameplay scenes should follow, perhaps at the games trade fairs this year. As with every good sequel, developer Respawn Entertainment will probably take the old formula of action-packed combat passages and varied puzzle and parkoure interludes and expand it with a few new elements. The difficulty level was also one of those things. Many felt that the Souls formula of crunchy fights, the right timing when parrying and delivering lightsaber blows and losing experience points didn’t really fit into a Star Wars game.

However, the world, which was only half open and consisted of expansive levels with secrets and hidden cosmetic items, was praised, especially in light of increasingly tedious open-world escapades. Let’s see how much of a reorientation we can expect here. But it is guaranteed that the developers will listen to fan and press criticism in some aspects and improve, optimise and implement new features. Now the delightful pre-release period of rumours, info-dropping by the developers, anticipation and patience begins. We are looking forward to it! May the Force be with us all!
