The story of Elden Ring is not immediately understandable at first glance. A video on YouTube explains the background of the game.

The story in Elden Ring comes from the pen of George R. R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones. In collaboration with From Software, the lore for the game was created in the end. YouTuber VaatiVidya is one of those who gives a compact insight into the story of Elden Ring.

Games by From Software are known for conveying their story through numerous descriptions of objects and simple dialogue. This is also the case in Elden Ring and it is quite a complex construct. YouTuber VaatiVidya has taken the trouble to explain the extensive lore simply in a 30-minute video. The content creator has already dealt with the story in other From Software titles and tried to bring it closer to the players.

The video talks about the connections and events that took place before the destruction of the Elden Ring. The central figure is Queen Marika, the Eternal. She serves as the vessel of the Elden Ring and is the current ruler of the interlands. In a giant mind map, VaatiVidya shows the connections between the characters and how it all comes together to form Marika.

The Queen was also the one who destroyed the Elden Ring in the end. Her husband Radagon failed in his attempt to repair it. This caused the pieces to scatter throughout the interlands. Because of this, war broke out between the demigods who tried to claim the parts and the throne for themselves. The Tainted Ones, to which your own character belongs, also returned and are searching for the shards of the Elden Ring.
