Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s mini robot ducks are taking the internet by storm. However, the 360-euro “Microducks” are sold out—the next batch won’t be available until April 2027!

Three lay down, one hesitated, and the internet was swept up in a frenzy over cute robot ducks in the blink of an eye.

When Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told the little “Microducks” to take a nap during his keynote at Berlin’s Tempodrom, it not only drew laughter from the audience but also sparked a rush to the manufacturer’s online store among viewers.

The mini-robots, developed by Pollen Robotics and Hugging Face and priced at around 340 euros, can already be pre-ordered in Germany, the EU, North America, and several other countries through the Pollen Robotics store.

What the Little Ducks Can Already Do

Behind the robot ducks’ cute appearance lies state-of-the-art technology. The machines, which are about 25 centimeters tall, were developed by Pollen Robotics in close collaboration with the AI platform Hugging Face.

Equipped with 15 individual motors, a wide-angle camera, and two legs, the Microducks can walk with surprising agility. To grasp objects, they use their movable beak—rather than arms or hands—to pick things up. Thanks to built-in artificial intelligence, they are also designed to adapt dynamically to their environment.

Of particular interest to developers: The robots are designed as an open-source platform and can be trained using simulation software such as Nvidia Isaac Lab.

During the keynote, the four ducks responded to commands from the Nvidia CEO. They did somersaults, sat down, or took a “nap.” Since not everything went smoothly, some of these small, imperfect moments went viral and helped turn the robot ducks into a coveted gift even during the keynote.

Delivery not until mid-2027

Customers who are just now clicking the “Buy” button are being told by the manufacturer to expect delivery “after April 2027.” However, there is also good news: All four robots can be purchased in Germany for exactly 340 euros. This means the usual markup on the U.S. price of $399 does not apply here.

The duck robots can be ordered in cream, gray, lavender, and sky blue. The “Microducks” are said to come equipped with a range of hardware and software features right out of the box.

They feature a LiDAR system for environmental detection and built-in speakers for sound effects. They also include two NFC antennas, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, and a gamepad for control.

More on Nvidia: Germany will benefit enormously from the Nvidia deal—but it’s still a sign of failure

The small robots are powered by a Rockchip RK3566 and an AI accelerator. The battery is removable and, according to the manufacturer, should last for about an hour of activity.

A charging kit with two batteries is available for an additional 33 euros. The large developer package costs around 100 euros extra and includes not only the charging kit but also motors, NFC tags, and other items.
