With Unreal Engine 5, complex battles and the search for loot, Dungeonborne wants to convince you – and you can already play it for free on Steam this week

After the Korean fantasy Tarkov Dark and Darker was banned from Steam due to copyright issues, a new rival, Dungeonborne Dungeonborne wants to be the first big extraction game with knights and mages. This week, you can find out for yourself whether the dark multiplayer game with impressive Unreal Engine 5 graphics is a success.

This is what awaits you in the fantasy Tarkov Dungeonborne

What kind of game is this? Dungeonborne wants to redefine the classic dungeon crawler by enriching the classic search for loot with extraction gameplay. Specifically, this means that you are thrown into a dungeon, have to search it for loot and compete in battles with monsters and other players

The biggest challenge, just like in Hunt: Showdown and Escape from Tarkov is to leave the level in time with the valuables you have found – in the trailer you can get a first impression of the gameplay and see some clips from battles:

You can find the other important gameplay elements in the following quick overview:

  • There will be many different classes: In addition to knights, archers and rogues, there will also be cryomancers, who encase their enemies in ice, and pyromancers, who rain fire down on their enemies.
  • Complex combat system: Well-timed parrying, blocking and counterattacking should play an essential role in the battles.
  • Loot plays an important role: You can sell your looted treasures in the in-game auction house or use them yourself on your next dungeon excursion.
  • Crafting on board: You can upgrade your found and purchased equipment with gems and tinker with your build.

If you want to venture into the fancy dungeons yourself, you should visit the Steam store page  on February 2  Because the open alpha of Dungeonborne will start this Friday as part of the Steam Next Fest, for which you can secure access there.

Developer Mithril Interactive would like to use your feedback to further improve the game and adapt it to the wishes of the community.
