Nvidia will soon be expanding DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and 6x mode: both features will be launched on March 31 for RTX 5000.

GDC 2026 (Game Developers Conference) is in full swing: From March 9 to 13, the developer conference will once again feature some news that is important for PC gamers.

This includes the official launch date of Nvidia’s “Dynamic Multi Frame Generation” announced at CES 2026, along with the new 6x mode.

According to Nvidia, both features will officially launch on March 31, 2026.

Dynamic frame interpolation controls AI frames as needed

The 6x mode is easy to explain: It generates five AI-generated frames for every conventionally rendered frame. The maximum multiplier thus increases from 4x to 6x.

According to the manufacturer, the additional images are calculated with minimal impact on input latency in conjunction with Nvidia Reflex.

This is Dynamic Multi Frame Generation: The technology dynamically adjusts the multiplier. Nvidia compares the system to an automatic transmission for the GPU.

Instead of using a fixed multiplier, the new feature monitors the difference between GPU performance and the monitor’s maximum refresh rate in real time.

  • In demanding scenes, the system switches up and generates more intermediate frames to achieve the target frame rate.
  • In less demanding passages, the feature automatically reduces the multiplier. According to Nvidia, this should result in a better balance between frame rate, image quality, and responsiveness.

The stated goal of the new technologies is particularly focused on computationally intensive path tracing. In 4K, even demanding titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth:
Wukong, or Alan Wake 2, the 240 fps limit should be achievable.

The catch is exclusivity: since Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and 6x mode are based on “regular” MFG, both features are also reserved exclusively for the RTX 50 series.

At launch on March 31, 2026, the features are expected to support more than 250 games; as usual, they can be activated via the Nvidia app.
