The new Steam Sale brings together two very curious themes and gives you some really great offers

Dinosaurs and robots have a lot in common: both have … okay, actually dinosaurs and robots don’t go together at all, but at least in the world of video games they create some very, very cool scenarios in which you can find dozens of hours of gaming fun. Valve must have thought so too, because there’s currently a big Steam sale going on in their honor!

This sale takes place from February 26 to March 4, 2024 at 7 pm you’ll find tons of games heavily discounted that have something to do with dinosaurs, robots or both.

You can of course browse the official Steam Robo Dino Sale overview page yourself, but we can help you out with a few editorial recommendations if you’re looking for a little guidance in the confusion.

Because equality between dinosaurs and robots is of course important to us, we strive for a balanced ratio in the recommendations, but we have to break a lance: The highlight of the sale belongs to the machines!

Highlight of the sale: Terminator: Resistance

  • Release: November 14, 2019
  • Genre: Shooter
  • Developer: Teyon
  • Offer & Price: 14 Euro, 65 percent discount
  • Valid until: March 4, 2024, 7 p.m.

Nobody expected that the makers of the disastrous Rambo: The Video Game, of all things, would make a good game out of a famous 80s and 90s franchise

But Terminator: Resistance is living proof! The shooter is one of the best licensed games ever and captures the charm of the Terminator template in a wonderfully captivating way:

In Terminator: Resistance, you don’t travel back in time, but you do experience the prequel to the first film in the dark future. As a soldier in John Connor’s resistance movement, you sneak through ruined buildings, shoot at Arnie Terminators and somehow try to save humanity from extinction

Terminator: Resistance is reminiscent of sandbox shooters like Deus Ex with its playful freedom, there is an incredible amount to discover, including cool side quests with their own little stories.

Of course, the game’s low production level is noticeable here and there, but anyone who loves Terminator will find Resistance an absolute recommendation, which is currently on Steam at a lower price than ever before By the way: The addon is also very worthwhile

More exciting offers

So, to give the dinosaurs a chance, here are a few more editorial recommendations in quick succession

  • Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a great management simulation in which you manage your own dinosaur park. Reduced by 70 percent for 18 euros, a real bargain. Like a raptor.
  • In Horizon: Zero Dawn you won’t just find dinos, but robo-dinos, the perfect marriage between the two species. Plus a great open world, a great story and much more. Reduced by 75 percent to 12.50 euros.
  • Battletech is one of the most sophisticated mech universes in the world and offers you the opportunity to lead your own squad of mercenary mechs to riches and glory through countless tactical battles in the strategy game of the same name. Costs 10 euros, 75 percent discount, but is also part of Microsoft’s Game Pass, so watch out.
  • In The Wandering Village the dinosaurs are so gigantic that you can build a beautiful settlement on their backs. The building game is still in Early Access, but is already worth it for 19 euros (25 percent).
  • Front Mission 1st: Remake revives a fantastic strategy role-playing game series, a kind of Fire Emblem with giant mechs. Reduced by 33 percent to 23 euros.
  • In the survival game The Isle you are the dinosaurs yourself! The project has been in Early Access for a long, long time, but the Steam reviews are 82 percent positive. Worth a look for around 13 euros (33 percent discount).

And, of course, it’s always worth looking beyond Steam. As already mentioned, you can also find Battletech in Microsoft’s Game Pass, and there is also a big Nacon sale on GOG, where you can get your hands on the latest game from the Terminator makers – Robocop: Rogue City – with a big discount. And the Epic Store is giving away Super Meat Boy until Thursday!
