Ubisoft and Red Bull hired stuntmen to perform the legendary Leap of Faith from Assassin’s Creed.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is in the starting blocks, and Ubisoft is slowly but surely ramping up its marketing campaign. In its latest promotional campaign, the French company is collaborating with Red Bull and has hired several stuntmen to recreate the legendaryLeap of Faith. In the process, they even set a new world record.

From 18 meters into the depths

What is the Leap of Faith? The Leap of Faith (German:Sprung des Glaubens) is a special jump in which Ezio, Bayek, Edward, and others stand perfectly straight, spread their arms, and then plunge from a great height into a haystack.

Top athletes and freerunning experts Dominic Di Tommaso, PavelPashaPetkuns, and Lilou Ruel, as well as world-class cliff diver Molly Carlson, took on the challenge of performing a real Leap of Faith.

The stunt consisted of four daring jumps. Towarm upthe team plunged into the water from a 14-meter-high cliff. They then repeated the feat, only this time from the highest point of a pirate ship. By then, at the latest, things had gotten dangerous.

Dominic Di Tommaso stood on a 12-meter-high tower and performed a Leap of Faith onto a sand landing area.

The grand finale was the big Leap of Faith from 18 metersinto a pile of straw. Dominic Di Tommaso went first again. With this, he broke the previous world record of 17 meters. But he would only hold it for a short time.Because then Lilou Ruel jumped from a height of 18.2 meters. Someone’s already done 18 meters, Di Tomasso commented respectfully shortly before Ruel’s stunt.

With a jump from 18.2 meters, Lilo Ruel is now officially the world record holder for the highest Leap of Faith.

Ubisoft has even more promotions up its sleeve to properly promote the Black Flag remake. For example, the company is collaborating with the U.S. building block manufacturer Wise Block and releasing four official sets for the new Assassin’s Creed.
