Good news for fans of Schalke 04 Esports: the club continues to play with a junior team in the Prime League.

After Schalke 04 Esports sold its starting spot in the European League of Legends league LEC, it was not clear for a long time what would happen to the junior team in the German Prime League. Now, however, fans can breathe a sigh of relief: the club will keep both the Prime League team and three players for the FIFA discipline.

In addition to participating in e-sports tournaments, Schalke also wants to focus on the “implementation of social projects, especially in the Ruhr region”. They also want to strengthen the connection between the team and the community and plan joint events. The Königsblauen also want to continue to draw attention to topics such as diversity and the health aspects of gaming. In addition to the LoL team, the three players of the football simulation FIFA continue to be an Esport figurehead at Schalke.

“We are delighted to remain part of the League of Legends community and continue to play in the Prime League with great ambitions,” said Peter Knäbel, Schalke’s Director of Sport and Communications. “We want to fight for the German championship again and also have a say in the EU Masters. “
