This is not the first time that the servers of Diablo 2: Resurrected are causing problems. What is the current status, is the server down and how are the players reacting?

Since its release, Diablo 2: Resurrected has been plagued by recurring server problems that prevent logging into Battle.net. The exact reasons are unclear, but apparently Blizzard can’t seem to get the problems under control. Although the servers were put into maintenance mode several times for a longer period of time, players are already complaining about problems again.

Here we will keep you informed about server downs, the general server status and possible login problems. We have also asked Blizzard if they already know why the situation is not improving permanently. As soon as we get an answer, we’ll let you know right here!

This is the current status

Oct 12, 2021, 6:20pm:Bilzzard is already working on a long term solution to the current problem according to the latest tweet. More updates to follow:

October 12, 2021, 4:30pm: Although Blizzard took the servers offline for several hours just yesterday, the problems do not seem to have been eradicated. In the social media, the complaints of numerous players are piling up, where the login is not working again and even characters have completely disappeared. In the meantime, Blizzard itself has confirmed the new problems and asks for patience:

Players react with frustration

Where exactly the source of all evil on the Blizzard servers lies is not known. Many of those affected accuse the developer of being stingy with capacity. A deficient technical infrastructure in general is also among the assumptions made.

In the end, most of those affected won’t even care what the problem is: they can’t play again, and that has led to a lot of frustration. This frustration is being vented on Twitter in the form of angry replies to Blizzard’s tweets. Above all, the suddenly empty character windows are causing resentment:

An unnerved user unceremoniously demands a refund of the purchase price, as he is now unable to play online for the umpteenth time:

Sorry, but it’s over. I just got home from work to play for an hour, level up a bit and relax, and again they [the servers] are down. I paid 40 euros for it, and no, I don’t want to play offline characters because I want to play with friends. I want a refund.

Other players express their concerns about the launch of Diablo 4 – after all, the upcoming spin-off is expected to attract even more players, resulting in even greater server load:

I wonder how the release of Diablo 4 will go. Definitely more players (or not if this [the problems] persist) and a huge game compared to Diablo 2: Resurrected. Can we trust @BlizzardCSEU_EN to keep the game going instead of having to go through this hassle again?

What about you guys? Have you also had the unpleasant encounter with an empty character selection? Or did you experience other problems in connection with the unstable servers? Let us know in the comments
