Just recently, s1mple wanted to take some time off due to the war. But those plans now seem to be off the table.

Star player Oleksandr “s1mple” Olehovych Kostyliev was still talking about a possible break in the competitive CS:GO scene in June. However, this apparently will not happen, as the Ukrainian announced in a press conference on Wednesday at IEM Cologne 2022.

The top player from NAVI actually wanted to take a break from the active CS:GO scene due to the war in Ukraine. However, this plan seems to be off the table for s1mple by now and he wants to use the upcoming summer break for his business. “The summer break is coming and a lot of things can be solved during it,” s1mple said during the press conference.

Since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the star player has not had a permanent place to stay and is constantly travelling due to the ongoing tournaments. There has also been a lot of change within NAVI due to this. Kirill “Bommbl4” Sergeevich Mikhailov is no longer part of NAVI’s active roster due to his then-wife’s alleged connection to the Russian Federation.

Previously, s1mple wanted to use the break to look for a new permanent home and apply for important documents. The star player now seems to want to settle this during the summer break. Currently, s1mple is in Cologne with NAVI and there they could win in their first match of the IEM Cologne 2022 against MOUZ with the only German player Jon “JDC” de Castro in the Group Stage.
