This week, a long-held wish comes true for many MMO veterans: With WoW Forever, Blizzard is finally making the old community dream of “Classic Plus” a reality. And on the Switch 2, one of the undisputed best games of all time is getting a re-release.

But there’s also plenty going on right on Steam in the first week of November, and as we do every Monday, we’re rounding up all the major new releases for you.

The highlight of the week: World of Warcraft: Forever

Since the last BlizzCon, we’ve known that the project long referred to as “Classic Plus” is officially called World of Warcraft: Forever and is launching this week as the third permanent server type alongside Retail WoW and the standard Classic server.

The level cap is set at 60, and chronologically, Forever takes place in the first year following the events of Warcraft 3: Reforged—Forsaken Kingdom—and before the Molten Core. So you’ll be back on the old continents of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, but in a timeline all its own.

At launch, the package includes three completely new areas, heavily revamped Classic zones, more than 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, and two new raids. In addition, there are new race-class combinations, such as Undead Paladins, as well as a completely new playable race: the Skyborn Elves, complete with their own starting zone on the island of Zephras.

You’ll get access to World of Warcraft: Forever at no extra cost through your regular WoW subscription. If you want to create a Skyborn right at launch, you’ll need at least the paid Heroic Upgrade Pack from the Battle.net Store. It all kicks off at midnight on Thursday, but you should be prepared for queues.

  • Brotato: Primal Dread (DLC): The long-running roguelite is getting a new update. After the heavily armed potato wreaked havoc in the deep sea in the last add-on, this time the action moves to a primeval jungle full of mutated predators. Also on board are a new map with 20 waves, fresh bosses, new characters, weapons, and items.

  • GRAVHOUNDS (Early Access): A wild genre mix of extraction shooter, base-building, and tower defense for up to four dog lovers in co-op. You land on hostile planets, rush to set up defensive structures and pipelines under time pressure, and try to make a quick getaway with as much loot as possible before the alien swarms overrun you. At launch, the game is also included directly in Game Pass.

  • Mayday: The Survival Island: After a mysterious crash, you wake up alone on a strange island. What begins as a classic survival loop quickly expands into a handcrafted archipelago of 24 different islands, where ancient ruins and magical totems suggest that you didn’t end up here by accident.

    • ArcheAge Chronicles (Early Access): If you’d rather play a modern action combat system à la New World instead of a classic tab-targeting MMO like WoW Forever, you’ll find the perfect alternative on Steam this Tuesday. You’ll travel to the land of Auroria as pioneers of a trading company, actively dodge attacks, parry blows, and manage housing and farming on the side.

    • Loftia (Early Access): If you’d rather work on community projects in the sky than fight, you’ll find what you’re looking for in this solarpunk cozy MMO. On floating islands, you’ll practice sustainable farming using hydroponics and renewable energy, set up your home, join forces with friends to turn your islands into entire neighborhoods, and adopt companions like capybaras or turtles.

    • Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered: A trip down memory lane for anyone who tore apart entire cities on the GameCube or the original Xbox in the early 2000s. Atari and Pipeworks Studios are bringing this kaiju brawler to PC for the first time as a polished remaster.

    • Death at Fleming Manor: A detective game for fans of titles like Return of the Obra Dinn. Set in England in 1959, you investigate mysterious deaths at a remote country estate.

      • Lightyear Frontier (Version 1.0): The peaceful mech-farming adventure is leaving Early Access. For the major 1.0 launch, the developers are delivering the complete story finale, two new regions, and a fundamentally revamped automation system.

      • Hull Rupture: A mix of base management, tower defense, and roguelite. You manage a flying spaceship, build new hull blocks and turrets on the fly, and defend against invading aliens.

      • Cozy Game Restoration: Here, you unpack surprise packages containing dirty and scratched retro game cartridges from the ’80s to the early 2000s. With no time pressure, you’ll use various tools to remove old price tags and scrub marker stains off the plastic until you’ve eventually collected all 100 cartridges.

      • Horses of Hoofprint Bay: A hand-drawn 2D horse farm simulation whose demo on Steam has a 99 percent positive rating. You’ll turn a run-down shed into a stud farm, care for and train your animals for competitions, hire staff, and breed foals that inherit their parents’ appearance and personality traits.

        • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Switch 2): In addition to Blizzard’s MMO, another true console heavyweight is set to launch on Thursday. Nintendo is bringing back the 1998 N64 classic as a complete remake for the Switch 2. While the time-travel story centered on Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf remains unchanged, the game has been significantly modernized in terms of technology and gameplay: It finally features a dedicated jump button, a freely rotatable camera, a sprint function, fully voiced cutscenes, and a fully explorable Hyrule City.

        • County of Fortune (Early Access) : There are plenty of medieval city-building games on Steam, but County of Fortune thinks a bit bigger. As a royal administrator, you’ll settle an entire county with several interconnected cities. You’ll plan trade routes along rivers and roads, establish complex production chains, and—as the game progresses—have to deal with mayors, noble houses, and diverse cultures.

        • Underkeep: A tribute to the dungeon crawlers of the ’90s in the style of Eye of the Beholder. You assemble a party of four heroes and descend step by step into handcrafted dungeons on a grid-based map, solving puzzles, searching for secret doors, and engaging in turn-based combat.

        • Airframe Ultra: Brutal retro racing with a PS1 look: You race through tracks on hoverbikes, beat up the competition with chains and pipes, and can even get off your bike to continue fighting on foot or steal another player’s vehicle right from under them.

        • Clean Start: A cozy tidying-up puzzle game with a serious underlying theme. You take on the role of Lena, an immigrant working in a foreign country who barely speaks her clients’ language. As you clean and organize strangers’ apartments, you piece together the residents’ stories from the items you find—and, along the way, furnish your own little apartment.

        • Dominus Gladiatus: You take charge of your own gladiator school in ancient Rome, purchase new fighters at the slave market, oversee training, equipment, and injuries, and send your protégés into battle against five rival schools. The bloody battles in the arena take place as auto-battles.

          • Find The Needle (Early Access): You’re standing in front of a haystack made up of six million straws with a shovel in hand, and you have to find the needles in it. But this manual labor quickly turns into a full-fledged factory game à la Satisfactory with over 300 upgrades, where you build conveyor belts, sorting machines, robotic arms, and drones to process the excess hay.

          • Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor: To wrap up the week, here’s a true piece of RPG history. The classic Dungeons & Dragons party RPG from 2001 is returning to Steam and GOG. You’ll lead up to six heroes through the cursed elven ruins of Myth Drannor in turn-based combat. The remaster runs smoothly on modern systems and includes widescreen and 4K support, a revamped user interface, adjustable combat speed, and numerous bug fixes.
