At the end of September, the RTS expansion will introduce a new campaign featuring eleven missions. The new Veti faction will also be unlocked for free in multiplayer mode.
The expansion *The Veti’s Wrath* for the real-time strategy game *Tempest Rising* will be released later this month.
Starting September 29, 2026, the add-on will be available on Steam, letting you experience a new campaign with the third playable faction.
You’ll take control of the eponymous Veti, a faction focused on conquest. At the same time, a free update will unlock them for all players in multiplayer and skirmish modes, as well as in custom games.
Eleven Missions and the Gold Edition: What Sets the Veti Faction Apart
The additional content will be available both separately and bundled with the base game in a new Gold Edition. Meanwhile, eleven missions await you in the new story missions.

Back in August, I spoke with Lead Game Designer Brandon Casteel in an interview about *The Veti’s Wrath* and the new faction.
Inspiration from ancient myths: Designer on the unique RTS gameplay experience
“We wanted to give the Veti a completely unique gameplay experience for an RTS faction,” Casteel said at the time. “For certain gameplay aspects, we did look at factions like the Cuotl from Rise of Legends or the Masari from Universe at War. At the same time, however, we also knew exactly what we didn’t want to do. Our goal was to create systems that capture that unmistakable feeling of an ancient, awakening conquering power.”
“In doing so, we drew even more inspiration from ancient myths than in other RTS titles. These include the Anunnaki from Mesopotamian mythology, Vedic scriptures (such as for the Veti’s Vimana unit), and even sacrificial rituals of ancient Mesoamerican peoples.”
