Rockstar has set the pre-order start date for GTA 6: We now know when you’ll be able to pre-order GTA 6. Plus, here’s the final cover art.
It’s official: Starting onJune 25, 2026, you’ll be able to pre-order GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sorry, PC community—you’ll have to wait a little longer. Along with this announcement, Rockstar has also revealed the game’s official cover art in its entirety:
Interestingly, Rockstar is revealing this information without a new trailer for the game. They did the same thing with *Red Dead Redemption 2* and *GTA 5*, but still: the gaming world has been eagerly awaiting a third trailer for weeks. Maybe we’ll get lucky in the next few days. What we do have, though, is a… cover reveal trailer—something only Rockstar would pull off:
However, there’s still no information whatsoever about price, editions, or physical vs. digital versions; the press release is exactly five lines long, and three of them are “Hello,” “Best regards,” and the sender’s name.
But at least the pre-order page recaps the story’s key plot points. It reads, verbatim:
When a simple, crooked scheme entangles Jason and Lucia in a criminal conspiracy that spans the entire state of Leonida, the young criminal couple finds themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in all of America—forced to rely on each other more than ever before if they want to survive.
When is GTA 6 coming out again?
After several delays, GTA 6 is set to be released on November 19, 2026, an event that nearly the entire industry is currently trying to avoid. A slew of releases have been moved up to September or—as in the case of Fable—even pushed back to next year. The release of GTA will be such a historic event that some companies are giving their staff the day off on launch day, because otherwise everyone would just call in sick anyway.
So: If you want to be fully prepared, you can pre-order starting June 25. As always, though, we recommend waiting until the first reviews come out.
