The fugitives in Dead by Daylight have never seen such a hunter before. They receive an unwelcome visitor from the far reaches of space.

Who’s coming to the party? Dead by Daylight is inherently a popular stomping ground for killers, murderers and serial offenders of the worst varieties, rich in inhumanity, but soon a particularly insidious one by nature slips in – literally. With a short teaser trailer, developer Behaviour Interactive announces a newcomer: the alien, also called Xenomorph, from the famous science fiction film franchise of the same name.

The atmospherically designed trailer doesn’t reveal many details, but on 8 August we are all supposed to find out more.

Cries of joy from the community

To call the mood in the community euphoric about the announcement an understatement. On Reddit, the cries of joy are overflowing under the teaser, from which the excitement and anticipation can be read straight out. Above all, it’s a particular character that many would like to see in the game as the antagonist of the alien’s first hour as well:

The above enthusiasm post now has over 700 upvotes. So apparently many gamers are longing for the moment when the alien first tries to infect them with eggs, chase them through corridors, maul them or simply drive them from one panic attack to the next. Well, gambling can already take on strange-looking features for outsiders.

Meanwhile, there is hot discussion about exactly what game mechanics the Alien will bring and what changes classic elements, such as the hook for prisoners, will undergo.

And the trailer hints at one thing in any case: The alien won’t be hunting its victims on a farm, but apparently inside a spaceshipFittingly, Reddit user (DemiFiendRSA foreshadowing) knows to proclaim:

In space no one can hear us scream.

And here’s another tip for all fans of skillful fan films on video games. The following series by a New Zealand nerd troupe lets you relive various scenes from the horror game – only with a humorous twist.

And are you looking forward to the new addition to the Dead by Daylight killer squad? Or would you have liked to see a very special different hunter for the pitiful souls at the generators? Do you play the title at all or was it simply the alien that drew you here? Feel free to post your thoughts, hopes and wishes in the comments!
