CD Projekt Red addressed its community in a blog entry yesterday and announced that it would be laying off 100 employees. This process was done in order to promote the effectiveness of the company.

As you may remember, CD Projekt Red is currently working on several projects. In addition to three projects in the Witcher universe, there is also a project in the cyberpunk cosmos as well as a completely new, unnamed IP.

In order to cope with this huge amount of work, the development teams have to work in a particularly promising way. Thus, Adam Kiciński, CEO of CDPR, explains that the “best people” and the “right teams” would be needed. The teams would therefore be created around the projects to ensure greater effectiveness and agility.

In order to meet these requirements, it would be necessary to part with 100 people, who make up just under 9% of the workforce. While some will be leaving CD Projekt Red soon, others will not be leaving until Q1 of 2024. However, all team members will be given enough time to process these changes and adapt accordingly.

How CD Projekt Red plans to compensate for these missing workers will probably be handled behind closed doors.
