Developer Battlestate reveals new info, a teaser trailer and screenshots for Escape from Tarkov Arena. The 5vs5 variant aims to offer a more nimble, HopIn version of Tarkov.
Escape from Tarkov Developer Battlestate has revealed a handful of new tidbits of information on the standalone spinoff of their hit game announced last summer on Twitter and via teaser trailer. Behind the title Arena
is a 5vs5 deathmatch variant for a quick round in between.
Scattered across several tweets, you can catch glimpses of the locations. In the further below linked Teasertrailer is also briefly the selection screen of the previously known arenas to see. Therefore we can now list the names of the first five maps:
- Airpit
- Sawmill
- Equator
- Bay-5
- Bowl

Who is Arena
interesting for? Escape from Tarkov enjoys a reputation in the gaming community as a title that gives newcomers little to work with and is all the harder on them for it. In addition, the potential for frustration in the matches of the PvPvE shooter is great, as valuable equipment that has been fought for can be lost in each run.
On top of that, the games last relatively long, respectively the duration of a round is difficult to estimate in advance. Arena is supposed to be more predictable and more suitable for the small shooter break in between, quasi a Tarkov snack

Classes and equipment in arena
The classes are divided as follows:
- Assault
- CQB
- Scout
- Marksman
Each class comes additionally with a whole set of equipment sets. Unlike the standard version of Tarkov, you don’t bring any equipment you’ve bought or found onto the battlefield. You simply choose the alter ego that most appeals to you and jump into an arena match.
However, the typical Tarkov gameplay is not completely thrown overboard: Elements like inventory management or modifying your weapons remain.
Owners of the Escape from Tarkov: Edge of Darkness Limited Edition
will get access to Arena at no additional cost as soon as it is released. Everyone else will have to pay again. When the new standalone game type of the shooter will be released is unclear. Battlestate has not made any statements about this yet.
