The LoL Worlds 2021 will take place in a total of five Chinese cities this year. The grand finale awaits us on November 6

Riot Games announced the venues for the League of Legends Worlds on Wednesday. And yes – you heard right, because this year the tournament will be broadcast in a total of five Chinese cities.

The tour will take us through the cities of Shanghai, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu and Shenzhen in turn. “We decided on the five Chinese cities after a highly competitive bidding process and are now ready to deliver on our promise to gamers with a multi-city tour for the biggest esports event in the world,” said John Needham, Global Head of Esports at Riot Games.

The exact stages that will be held in each city are not yet known. However, the final is scheduled to take place on 6 November at the Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen. Although the venue would have space for over 60,000 fans, it is not yet clear to what extent this will be utilised.

At the 2020 Worlds Final in Shanghai, some 6,312 people were selected from over three million fans to watch the day of the big showdown live at the SAIC Motor Pudong Arena. So if the Corona pandemic is still affecting events between now and November, a similar system with a select number of spectators is conceivable.
