In an interview Glen Schofield, CEO of Striking Distance Studios, talks about the development process of The Callisto Protocol. During the conversation we can also marvel at new gameplay footage of the upcoming horror game.

Glen Schofield is probably known for his work on Dead Space. Some time ago he came back with the newly founded Striking Distance Studios and already presented the upcoming title The Callisto Protocol during The Game Awards 2020, which is supposed to be released later this year. He reveals how he came up with the idea for this survival horror game in an interview with Game Informer. There he explains that after his time at Activision he spent some time on holiday in the desert. There he simply made some drawings and finally created a story to go with them. Later, he sat down with his writers and drafted the final storyline for the game.

In the year 2320, Jacob Lee is in the black steel prison on Jupiter’s moon Callisto. Suddenly, chaos breaks out in the prison as a mysterious infection spreads and transforms all inmates and guards into the so-called Biophages  Now it’s up to Jacob to gather resources and weapons to fight back against the gruesome monsters. As he searches for a way out of this nightmare, he simultaneously gathers clues about the events that led to this catastrophic outbreak. In the process, he repeatedly comes across the United Jupiter Company

The Callisto Protocol will be released on 2 December for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. You can find more information about the setting on the (official website). You can also pre-order the title there.
