After things got restless in the Battlefield 2042 community, several developers are now coming forward and asking for trust.

Nearly a week has passed since developer DICE officially confirmed the postponement of Battlefield 2042’s release. The official statement said that “unforeseen challenges due to the global pandemic” had caused the postponed release.

Since then, many fans have been worried about the state of the game, also because industry insider Tom Henderson reported a development phase marked by many problems.

Now, however, several developers have come forward personally via Twitter to contradict this. Not only do they go into more detail about the exact reasons for the postponement, but they also explain why there should be no cause for concern.

Developer asks for trust

Although a release delay always indicates that a game has not yet reached the necessary quality, the upcoming Battlefield part should not be in crisis – at least that’s what developer Jim Hejl writes on Twitter.

In his post he thanked the fans for their understanding and at the same time solicited trust:

“It feels good that you trust us. And you should too. It’s a solid game. This is not my first rodeo. It’s not a project in trouble. It just takes a little longer. Have faith, brudis. ”

When asked by a fan what exactly is still being tweaked, Hejl also gave an answer:

“Right now we are screwing with the terrain tessellation – for maximum performance without sacrificing anything in terms of visuals. Every 24 hours, hundreds of employees worldwide take this a little further.”

Game designer Frederik Drabert also commented on the shift. On the current state of development, he said, “The game is already a lot of fun, but needs more polish.”
