A new making-of video for Minecraft Legends was revealed over the weekend. In it, the developers from Blackbird Interactive and Mojang talk about the design of the world. They also talk about the new enemies of the adventure game.

The image and video material released so far for Minecraft Legends shows a detailed world that almost resembles a fairy tale. According to the development teams at Blackbird Interactive and Mojang, this is precisely the impression that is intended. To give the in-game world a lively feel, they have taken inspiration from nature.

When you walk through a park, for example, you suddenly see birds fluttering in the bushes or hear the wind rustling through the treetops. These details were also to be implemented in the upcoming Minecraft game. In addition, all the trees and mountains were drawn by hand and then converted into pixel art, which also reveals the eye for detail.

Colour contrasts also play a crucial role in the gameplay of Minecraft Legends. While the upper world is colourful but in rather muted tones, the biomes of the enemy piglings have aggressive colour tones. For example, an aggressive-looking red and many gold ornaments are used. Various shades of green are also used to capture the fetid aura of the enemies.

Even after you have driven the Piglings from their bases, the garish red remnants of the biomes are said to remain. In the developer video, they are compared to scars on the landscape. This highlights the severity of the Pigling attack.

Minecraft Legends will be released on April18 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The game will also support Xbox Cloud Gaming and be part of Game Pass.
