Patch 12.10 in League of Legends is officially online, bringing massive changes to the current meta.

Riot Games has released patch 12.10 in League of Legends in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. This brings huge changes to heals, shields and all champions. This should make the battles in League of Legends last longer.

Every champion in the Summoner’s Rift has received an increase in the basic values for life, armour and magic resistance with patch 12.10. The update also includes a nerf to the healing shields and all champions in League of Legends. On the other hand, the update includes a nerf for all heals and shields. This change applies to all areas in the game. Champions, items, runes and more are affected by the nerf in League of Legends.

This will reduce healing by 10 percent in the early game and 28 percent in the late game. Because of this, Riot Games is adjusting the Gash effect to keep it in balance with healing. After all, this reduces the healing a champion would receive.

In addition, a new trailer for the champion Bel’Veth was released. There, LoL fans can get a first glimpse of the jungler’s abilities. Although there is no official release date yet, the champion could already appear in the game with the next patch on 8 June. Players can also look forward to new High Noon skins. Sion, Viktor, Samira, Tahm Kench and Twitch will get a new outfit with the update.

For quite some time now, many players have been bothered by dying too quickly in League of Legends. Overloaded champion kits and buffs over the course of the last few years have ensured that most champions simply deal too much damage. The developers want to counteract this situation in the upcoming 12.10 patch and are therefore adjusting both resistances and heals.

Coming damage reduction as a reason

All champions will get a nerf that will reduce heals and shields between 10-28%. This is partly because Riot Games doesn’t want champions to be immortal from now on.

In LoL developer Phlox’s Twitter post, he explains that the nerfs are necessary:

The Riot staff are well aware that this patch brings major changes. However, in order for the game to remain balanced, the heals must be generated. The reasons for this include:

  • Grievous Wounds will be revised
  • All champions get less damage
  • Sustain champions in particular can become too strong due to the patch
  • Too strong heals and shields can make champions virtually immortal

The rework of the anti-heal items is particularly interesting, although there is no more detailed information on them yet.
