GTA Online is getting the Kortz Center Heist in July. Plus, many GTA 5 owners can upgrade to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for free.
Rockstar has announced the next major update forGTA Online:The Kortz Center Heistis coming as early as July 2026 and sends you to one of Los Santos’ most famous museums.
The target of the new heist isthe Kortz Center in Pacific Bluffs, known in GTA 5 as a sprawling museum complex in the hills. It housesinternational works of art of inestimable value, which apparently won’t be quite as safe in the upcoming update.
New Heist Takes You to the Kortz Center
For the new heist, you’ll need to expand your mansion to include an art studio.Then, you’ll scout out the complex and decide on a strategy to infiltrate the Kortz Center in several stages and escape with the loot.
Rockstar is referring to amulti-stage heist centered on art theft and forgeries. In the coming weeks, there will be preparatory events to help players get in the mood for the big heist in July.
To prepare for the new heist, Rockstar has announced several promotions in the coming weeks. These include:
- Bonus GTA$ for selected activities
- Discounts on various in-game items
- rare and exclusive treasures through the Art Collector program
- a 2,000,000 GTA$ discount on select Mansion properties for GTA+ members
- a limited-time 40 percent bonus GTA$ on Shark Cards
Free Upgrade for GTA 5 Announced
In addition to the new GTA Online heist, there’s also important news for everyone still playing on the previous generation of consoles:
Starting June 18, owners of the PS4 version of GTA 5 and owners of the digital Xbox One versioncan upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions for free.
Compared to the older versions, the current console versions offer, among other things:
- additional content and convenience features
- technical improvements
- transfer of story and online progress
- Hao’s Special Works with special vehicles and upgrades
- Career progression rewards
PC players can also continue to upgrade from the Legacy version to the Enhanced version for free. Among other things, this version offers PC-exclusive enhancements such as ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination.
The Kortz Center Heist is coming in July to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Rockstar plans to reveal more details about the heist’s gameplay in the coming weeks.
