GTA fans have been wanting to see real gameplay for months, and now developer Rockstar has finally revealed when it’s coming.

Finally! After months of silence, developer Rockstar has revealed when we’ll get to see more ofGTA 6.

The good news: We’re expecting the first real, in-depth gameplay footage—and it’s coming this month! More specifically, onAugust 27, 2026.

However, the venue for the reveal is quite unusual, as Rockstar has announced that the first in-depth look at GTA 6will take place on the streaming platform Netflix. This means that anyone who wants to see the new trailer right away will have to pay a subscription fee.

GTA 6 Gameplay Reveal During gamescom 2026

When exactly will it happen?

  • Thursday, August 27 at 9:00 p.m.:The trailerGrand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Lookwill premiere exclusively on Netflix.
  • Friday, August 28 at 3:00 a.m.: Just six hours after the Netflix premiere, the GTA 6 reveal will also be available on theofficial YouTube channel.

How long is the reveal expected to last?TheYouTube descriptionof the video already listed indicates that the gameplay reveal will last about 30 minutes.

What to Expect?

The nameGrand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Looksuggests that the video isa kind of commentary-style “making-of”featuring a gameplay trailer and explanations from the developers.

Rockstar and Netflix are dropping a major publicity bombshell here, as the gameplay reveal is happeningright in the middle of gamescom. And Rockstar isn’t even there in person.

Nevertheless, the reveal is likely to capture a large portion of the media’s and online audience’s attention, effectively upending the show for all the developers and showcases in Cologne.

The fact that the gameplay reveal is happening on Netflix of all places is exciting, as the American streaming service still has ambitions to gain a foothold in the gaming business.

Overall, though, the streaming service has pulled off quite a coup here. Thanks to the time-exclusive GTA reveal, Netflix can look forward to a steady influx of new customers. However, Rockstar probably charged a hefty price for that time-exclusive deal.
