The new roadmap for Vampire Survivors announces tons of new content for the new year – just a bit messy

Released in 2022, Vampire Survivors was still one of the most successful indie games on Steam in 2023. A version for the Nintendo Switch was only recently released.

But according to the developers, the vampiric goings-on are far from over. Now the creators are revealing their thoughts for the year 2024, which has just begun. It’s not a classic roadmap, but the outlook is nevertheless exciting.

A veritable whirlwind of content

(The team themselves write on Steam) that they are not fans of detailed roadmaps. Ultimately, according to them, these too often fail due to the imponderables of game development. But with the graphic above, they at least want to provide a glimpse of their internal plans

The team is having some fun with this: Because the Roadmap is as chaotic as a vortex usually is. Both the order of the innovations and the arrangement from the outside to the inside should not be given any meaning. All the graphic says is: We are working on this, but when any of it will appear is still open, even internally.

Popular and much played

The developers hardly need to worry about there being enough people interested in the new content. The game has been fantastically well received on Steam. It currently has an Extremely positive rating (with a fabulous rate of 98 percent), which has earned them well over 210,000 recommendations.

The daily flock of vampires is also still impressive: (According to SteamDB) Thousands are still taking on the demonic hordes every day on Valve’s platform alone.

What is Vampire Survivors?

Vampire Survivors is a kind of bullet hell shooter with roguelike elements. You control one of several unlockable heroes across a flat, two-dimensional map and must survive 30 minutes to win.

You will encounter zombies, skeletons, ghosts, mummies, bats and other monsters as enemies. When they die, they drop XP crystals. Once you have collected enough of them, you will level up. This unlocks new weapons and passive talents

With every minute that passes, you become more powerful, but so do your enemies. Before you know it, your screen will be filled with a surging tide of horror that will hopefully smash against your hero firing from all cylinders in impressive fashion.

Are you already baring your vampire fangs in anticipation of the planned new content? On which platform do you want to face the waves of enemies together? Let us know your thoughts on the topic and which of the keywords from the roadmap is most likely to arouse your anticipation or even just a rough idea in the comments!
