Early Access for the new strategy game, in which you build a trading empire in a city, will launch as early as July.
The Guild: Europe 1410 has a release date! At least for Early Access. Yet in the interview announcing the game, the developers had originally assured us that the new installment of The Guild wouldn’t be released in Early Access, but would launch as a full game. Especially after the trauma ofDie Gilde 3, which languished in Early Access for years, that sounded like a good idea.
But now it’s going to be an Early Access release after all, and until it launches,it won’t be long at all!
- It starts on July 16, 2026!
We can only speculate about the reasons for the switch to Early Access; there is no official statement on the matter. In any case, this gives the developers a little more time to polish the game to perfection and to incorporate player feedback in the process.
Fans are naturally hoping, however, that the EA won’t last as long this time as it did for The Guild 3.
What’s in the game?
What’s also missing so far is an official announcement regarding which content will already be available in Early Access and which won’t. We therefore expect that all planned features could appear as early as the Early Access phase, and that the “Early Access” status primarily refers to the fact that there may still be frequent bugs and that the game’s balance likely still requires some work.
In terms of content, however, you can expect everything we were able to examine in our preview versions. At its core, The Guild is a mix of role-playing and economic simulation.Think of it a bit likeCrusader Kings, but set in a single city in the Middle Ages.
There, as a new citizen, you choose a profession and work your way up. How you do that is up to you. You can build a trading empire or secure your advantages through political offices. Your family members and successors also determine how much influence you can exert on the city’s development.
You can shape four real-world cities in this way, all of which are based on historical models. So far, Nuremberg, Kuttenberg, Breslau, and Graz have been announced. More may be added during Early Access. The same applies to the professions, of which eleven were previously announced, including blacksmiths, thieves, and innkeepers.
It is unclear whether all of them will be playable during Early Access. In our last preview version, this was often not the case. We also do not yet know how long the game will remain in EA.
