It had been clear long before the release that “The Blood of Dawnwalker” would get a sequel. Now, work has actually already begun on the next installment of the planned vampire series.
The Blood of Dawnwalkerhas barely been released, and the developers at Rebel Wolves are already preparing for their next game. We learned this on LinkedIn, where they’re looking for a new writer—for thenext chapter of the Dawnwalker saga
.
Coen Will Return
Dawnwalker is celebrating a successful release: Within three days, the role-playing game had alreadyone million copies. The Steam reviews are very positive (even thoughtechnical issues are causing some frustration), and the vampire open-world game is also well-received in reviews.
We, too, have plenty of praise for Dawnwalker:
This seems to have the developers feeling optimistic about a sequel. Long before the release, it was already clear to Rebel Wolves that *The Blood of Dawnwalker* was just the beginning of the story of the main character, Coen.
The plan isa multi-part saga that will take the Dawnwalker through various eras and locations all the way to the present day. A short trailer has even provided a little preview of this.
Now that The Blood of Dawnwalker has been released, it seems the story will continue as soon as possible. On LinkedInNarrative Director Jakub Szamalek is looking for new team members:
We’re not resting on our laurels—no, not at all! We’re already thinking about what’s next.
And that’s why! Drumroll, please! I’m looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the story team shape the next chapter of the Dawnwalker saga.
Apparently, the development studio is already working on the next game, since they’re already looking for new team members to continue Coen’s story. Rebel Wolves is likely already in the pre-production phase for the sequel, during which the setting and story are roughly mapped out—and, of course, writers are needed for that.
It’s unclear, however, what the future holds for *The Blood of Dawnwalker* itself. So far, two small hotfixes have been released, but no major updates have been announced yet, even though the RPG could still use some improvements in terms of technology and balance.
The developers also haven’t revealed anything concrete about possible DLCs or expansions. We’ll, of course, keep you updated on any news and announcements.
