After talking about the soundtrack of Starfield yesterday, today we start with the developer videos for the sci-fi game. The Endless Pursuit is about the constant growth of in-game worlds and how generic video games are becoming our games.

In the developer video, Bethesda Art Director Matt Carofano, Studio Director Angela Browder and Game Director Todd Howard talk about the emotions that play an important role in gaming. When developing a game, it is important to evolve while staying true to your roots. The three of them show this in their conversation about Skyrim and how Bethesda has changed to produce Starfield.

Further, the three developers talk about how exploration is at the heart of Bethesda games. The setting for Starfield gives more than enough… room for that. After all, space offers the ultimate exploration landscape for all brave travellers. In doing so, they also want to tread a new path. While the Elder Scrolls series tells an epic fantasy myth, Starfield aims to tell a “grounded”, realistic story.

Nevertheless, familiar gameplay mechanisms will be used, such as first person or the detailed interaction of the world. Players will be able to stand anywhere on the map and watch day turn to night.

Starfield is scheduled for release on 11 November 2022 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. In addition, the sci-fi title will be available in Xbox Game Pass from the start.
