Ubisoft has announced the release date for the first story DLC for Star Wars Outlaws. The expansion, titled “Wild Card,” will be released on November 21, 2024, sending players on a thrilling adventure where they’ll compete in a Sabacc tournament and meet the legendary Lando Calrissian. In addition to the new story, free new missions will be released for all players.
Lando Calrissian at the center of the expansion
The upcoming “Wild Card” expansion is highly anticipated as the popular character Lando Calrissian will play a central role in it. Fans of the original trilogy are looking forward to seeing him again. It is speculated that the plot of the expansion may build on an encounter with Lando from the main game. In addition to the new story campaign, the update on release day will also include new free content for all players, adding additional missions to the game.
Improvements to the base game
Alongside the release of Wild Card, Ubisoft is planning a series of quality improvements to the main game. The developers are already working on several updates that will primarily optimize the gaming experience. These include adjustments to the combat and stealth systems, as many players have criticized bugs and performance issues since the game’s August 2024 launch. Ubisoft has also announced that graphical errors and texture issues that currently still affect the gaming experience will be fixed.
After a disappointing launch, Ubisoft hopes to get the game back on track with these DLCs and improvements. Despite the game’s ambitious open-world mechanics, the launch was overshadowed by technical glitches and immature gameplay. However, Ubisoft has plans to regain players’ trust and stabilize the game in the long term through regular updates and the DLCs.
Season Pass and Cosmetic Bundles
The Wild Card Expansion will be part of the Season Pass Players who own the pass will get access to two new cosmetic bundles, the Hunter’s Legacy Pack and the Cartel Ronin Pack, in addition to the DLC. These packs contain additional skins and equipment. Players without a Season Pass can purchase the DLC separately, but will still have access to the new contracts, which are available to everyone.
Next Expansion: A Pirate’s Fortune
In spring 2025, Ubisoft will release the second major DLC entitled “A Pirate’s Fortune”. In this expansion, the main character Kay Vess encounters the infamous pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who is known from the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels. Hondo involves Kay in a conflict with a gang of pirates with whom he still has unfinished business.
Star Wars Outlaws has been August 30, 2024 available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
