The new audio hardware for the PS5 features AI-powered noise cancellation. However, prices and exact release dates have not yet been announced.

PlayStation is expanding its audio lineup with two new additions and today announced the PlayStation Pulse Wireless Headset and the Pulse Edge Wireless Headset.

Let’s first take a look at the Pulse headset, which is set to be available in select markets in White and Midnight Black just in time for the holiday season.

AI Noise Cancellation and Foldable Design: More Comfort for the Pulse Headset

“The headsets’ PlayStation Link support delivers lossless audio with extremely low latency,” Sony states. “At the same time, it offers the flexibility to switch seamlessly between supported devices such as PS5 consoles, PlayStation Portal Remote Players, PCs, and Macs. The headsets can also connect to supported Bluetooth devices simultaneously.”

Both headsets feature AI-powered noise cancellation built directly into the microphones to filter out background noise. Additionally, their design has been revised to ensure improved comfort and durability. Thanks to the swiveling ear cups, you can fold the headsets flat for easier transport.

Planar Magnetic Drivers and ANC: Here’s What the Premium Pulse Edge Model Can Do

The Pulse Edge is expected to launch in early 2027; it will be available in the same color options (White and Midnight Black) and features planar magnetic drivers with twice the magnetic volume of the Pulse. “This delivers even richer, deeper bass while maintaining the precision and clarity needed for subtle details,” the company says.

It also features active noise cancellation to reduce unwanted ambient noise—and includes a detachable boom microphone.

Further details regarding the launch, such as the pre-order start date, release date, and price, will follow soon.
