Sony has announced the release date for the PlayStation Portal. The hybrid console will launch on 15 November 2023 just in time for the Christmas shopping season. The PlayStation Portal offers a unique gaming experience that combines the PlayStation 5 with portable gaming. With an 8-inch screen and Remote Player, gamers can enjoy their console games in all their glory on the go, as long as they have stable Wi-Fi access.

The PlayStation Portal Remote Player controls are equipped with all the features of the DualSense controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The screen can play back game content in stunning 1080p and at up to 60 frames per second.

In order to access the games from their PS5 library players will need broadband WLAN access of at least five Mbps, with a high-speed connection of at least 15 Mbps recommended . This makes PlayStation Portal the ideal option for gamers who want to enjoy PS5 games while others are using the TV.

It is important to note that each PS5 can only be connected to one PlayStation Portal at a time, and no PlayStation Plus membership is required to play. The price for the portable expansion to PS5 is 219.99 Euro
