Many players are unanimous about their wishes regarding the next update for GTA Online: They demand luxury mansions to buy and furnish – no matter what the cost.
Those who have been playing GTA Online for a while should have everything by now. The Cayo Perico Heist, or rather the grind of it, has turned numerous players into millionaires who want for nothing. Be it weapons, cars, real estate or a flying rocket motorbike.
And these same players are now thinking about what they want to invest their savings in next. In recent days, a wish has been voiced on Reddit that many GTA Online fans have been harbouring for years: to own a luxury mansion and, in the best case, to furnish it individually.

Rich players want expensive estates
This is what many players wish for: From at least two recent posts with thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments, a clear picture can be drawn. Many GTA Online players would like to acquire a real mansion or a beach house in the open game world.
Because currently there are a lot of luxury flats and houses on stilts to buy, but they are almost exclusively available in Los Santos itself. Moving to a rural area or even to a real estate currently remains an unfulfilled dream for a large part of the fans.
In the same breath, many players also demand that those houses can also be furnished – if that would be possible at all. Because at the moment, the interiors of most (luxury) flats are like two peas in a pod, while the only thing that can be selected for the penthouses is the furnishing style.
The only exception is the casino penthouse in the Diamond Resort, which can be decorated with different pictures, figures and plants and where players can have parties, play poker or change their appearance.
But there is also criticism: Admittedly, not every player is a fan of the idea of owning a mansion or estate in GTA Online. Because admittedly, even luxury flats and penthouses don’t exactly fulfil diverse or in-depth functions. Apart from a spawn point, a planning board for heists and a garage, all that remains are pastimes like watching TV, smoking a bong and looking out the window.
However, most players who would like to live in a mansion don’t really care: they argue that by now you would have more than enough money in your virtual bank account to be able to buy a new status symbol without having to think twice.
What else do players want? Of course, buyable luxury estates are not the only idea players would have collected for the future of GTA Online. From the posts and discussions on Reddit, other demands can be filtered out, such as:
- Hangars to display many cars at once
- That the Mile High Club construction site be completed
- Enterable heists and malls
- New Heists
- The ability to sell real estate
- Fixing old known glitches and bugs
- New hairstyles and beards

What will the next update bring and when?
2021 a lot of things are supposed to happen in GTA. There are rumours about an as yet unconfirmed remaster collection of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. In addition, the NextGen version of GTA 5 for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and the standalone version of GTA Online are still in the pipeline.
Furthermore, a new update for GTA Online should be available in autumn or winter 2021 at the latest. This would correspond to the regular release rhythm of Rockstar Games and also coincide with official teasers.
What exactly the next expansion for GTA Online will bring to Los Santos Tuners is currently unknown, but the established insider and data miner Tez2 at least brought one possibility into play: Nightclubs could be given a more important role or at least more new missions could take place there.
