Twitch legend Ninja has been foregoing his hobbyhorse Fortnite in his streams lately – the followers don’t thank him, because the North American is losing considerable viewer numbers.

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has neglected his Fortnite domain in his recent streams. As a result, his viewership has plummeted considerably. The North American had won over his 16.8 million followers primarily with Battle Royale. His current passion is League of Legends.

For a few months now, Ninja has hardly shown Fortnite at all on his channel. Statistically, his average viewership of 25,000 viewers, which was quite high in some cases, has halved over the months of June and July. So what’s next for the Twitch giant?

The statistics in a low flight

Ninja’s standing in the Fortnite community has actually been set in stone over his career as a streamer. In addition to huge crossovers with celebrities like Marshmello, Drake and Neymar, and collaborations with Epic Games themselves, the streamer has even been honoured with his own skin in the game.

In the last two months, however, Ninja has only shown two Fortnite streams on his channel, totalling seven hours. Although the Battle Royale usually achieves a viewer average of a good 20,000 people, Ninja has visibly distanced himself from it in recent months. In the period from January to the end of July 2021, Fortnite takes up just under seven per cent of Ninja’s total streaming time.

So what is the Twitch partner switching to? By far the highest proportion of his streaming time in the past six months is actually taken up by the universally known MOBA League of Legends. However, with almost half of Ninja’s stream time, League of Legends “only” attracts an average of 10,000 viewers to the North American’s shows.

Switching without a reason?

Ninja so far doesn’t seem bothered by the fact that he has halved or quartered his viewership with LoL, VALORANT and Final Fantasy streams. He himself has not yet officially commented on his current strategy. So until the North American gets more excited about Fortnite on his own, the majority of his Fortnite fans may have to find another content creator.
