A big release week awaits us, in which both soccer fans can cheer and role-playing connoisseurs.

We’re really leaving the summer behind us and sliding into the traditionally packed fall of games. Already last week there were some exciting new titles to discover with games like Lies of P or Payday 3 . This week we continue with the official release of EA Sports FC 24 and one of the best DLCs of the whole year.

The highlights of the week

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

(Genre: Role-playing game – Developer: CD Projekt Red – Release: Sep 26, 2023)

We usually give rather less consideration to pure DLCs in this week’s releases. But a major work like Phantom Liberty we simply must give space! The extensive expansion for the main game released almost three years ago is among the best we have ever seen from a DLC.

EA Sports FC 24

(Genre: Sports simulation – Developer: EA Sports – Release: September 29, 2023)

Normally, we would have said: new year, new FIFA! But unfortunately that’s not true this time. Because there is no FIFA anymore. At least in theory. In practice, the renamed EA Sports FC 24 is just that: a new FIFA that builds on its predecessors. In the test, it became clear that EA has packed a few sensible innovations into their soccer game. But there have also been more innovative vintages.

Tuesday, September 26

  • (Paleo Pines): You’ll travel to a dinky island where you’ll establish a sanctuary for cute dinosaurs, which you’ll discover and tame along your journey.
  • (Mineko’s Night Market): Atmospheric 2D adventure game in which you’ll learn about Japanese culture in the role of a young girl.

Wednesday, September 27

  • (Hometopia (Early Access): Just the game for you, if you already love to just build houses and equip them with furniture in The Sims.
  • (Fortune’s Run (Early Access): A retro shooter, set in a gritty industrial future and where it’s actually more about hand-to-hand combat than shooting.

Thursday, September 28

  • (Infinity Strash: DRAGON QUEST The Adventure of Dai): An elaborately staged action role-playing game that retells the story of the anime and manga of the same name.
  • (Wildmender): In this unusual survival game, you must survive in the desert and bring an oasis to life.
  • (Pizza Possum): Who better to steal pizza than a possum? No one! In this chaotic arcade adventure, you’ll run around stuffing yourself with as much food as you can find.

Friday, September 29

  • (Fate/Sumarai Remnant): A classic Japanese action role-playing game, with all the necessary drama and effects-rich combat with varied characters.
  • (Cocoon): A unique puzzle game from the iso view in which you explore spheres on the back of a beetle. The game comes from the creative mind behind Limbo and Inside.

These are the games you can look forward to this week. Which one is at the top of your wish list? Or do you have a title in mind that we forgot to mention here? Let us know in the comments!
