A new developer studio with well-known developer greats is working on a new PVP shooter that is supposed to unite many popular titles. You can find all the info here!

Theorycraft Games is a new development studio consisting of some industry veterans from Riot Games or Activision Blizzard. With a new team, Theorycraft is working on a PVP shooter that will combine elements of games like League of Legends and Apex.

Project Loki – This is what the new game should look like

(Joe Tung), the CEO of Theorycraft Games and former lead producer of titles such as League of Legends, Destiny and Halo, introduced Project Loki for the first time on YouTube on 28 June.

In a video, the video game veteran describes the team’s ideas and even shows a snippet of pre-alpha gameplay.

In Project Loki, players choose their character and plunge into a world that Tung describes as a “massive combat sandbox”.

The trailer, which arguably shows a “pre-pre-pre-pre alpha”, bears similarities from battle royale, shooter, MOBA and action titles.

Project Loki – Mix of Apex, LoL and Overwatch?

The top-down view is very reminiscent of League of Legends while the drop-in mechanics and free movement are more like titles like Fortnite or Apex Legends.

In the battles, however, clear characteristics of a hero shooter à la Overwatch stand out.

Tung describes that the team’s goal is to develop a multiplayer game that brings together as many different types of players as possible.

For the development of Project Loki, we used our experience from working on some of the biggest team-based PVP games such as League, VALORANT, Apex and Overwatch and worked with a group of hardcore playtesters.

Project Loki – Here’s how you can test the game right now

Tung goes on to explain that another goal of the team is to get many players to try out the current state of the game.

On 29 and 30 June the first pre-alpha playtest for Project Loki will run. So if you want to test the game right now, you can easily sign up for it on Theorycraft’s official website.
