If you don’t log in to Ubisoft for too long, you can apparently lose your account and games. But you can easily prevent this.

Have you not logged in to your Ubisoft account for a long time? Then you should do so as soon as possible. Because as it just turns out, apparently complete accounts and with them their games are deletedif they remain inactive for too long a period.

Why Ubisoft can delete your account

What happened? A post by the user (AntiDRM) is currently doing the rounds on Twitter, who is himself affected by a possible account deletion. According to this, he has received an email from Ubisoft warning of the account cancellation – a further reaction from Ubisoft support confirms this action:

We have noticed that you are not using your Ubisoft account […]. We have temporarily disabled the account and will permanently delete it in 30 days in accordance with our terms and conditions. If you would like to keep your account, you can prevent its deletion by clicking the Cancel button below.

How do I prevent the deletion of my account and games?

The solution is very simple: To prevent Ubisoft from deleting your account with all its games, you simply have to log in with your account. This info comes from the official Ubisoft account in person.

In the comments under the article, however, there is of course a lot of criticism.  Many users are not aware of the practice and most of them do not understand the measure itself. The fact that you are only informed of this by email, which can easily end up in the spam folder, is also absolutely insufficient for many.

The exact length of time you have to neglect your Ubisoft account for it to be deleted is also only partially clear. (PCWorld) reported on a similar case before, from which it can be deduced that you must not have looked into your account for at least four years again. However, this info is from 2021.

What do you think of Ubisoft’s controversial move to delete inactive accounts and their games for too long? When was the last time you checked Ubisoft Connect? And perhaps to touch on another topic: How much did you like the publisher’s recent games and which upcoming one are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments!
