Huge roadmap: The future of Escape from Tarkov has never been so open before us as it is now

Two huge updates are still scheduled for release in 2023 for Escape from Tarkov – the roadmap reveals what’s inside.

Escape from Tarkov is and remains a phenomenon – the hard-hitting shooter continues to captivate thousands of players with its oft-copied, but so far unrivalled gameplay and drives some to despair.

The next wipe and the big summer update with lots of new content await you in August. But the developers have also revealed what you can look forward to afterwards with a big roadmap.

This is what will happen in Escape from Tarkov in 2023

Summer Update

As already mentioned, the next wipe awaits in August and thus the ideal opportunity to rejoin or re-join. According to rumours, the Wipe will take place on 28 August 2023 

Even before that, the big Summer Update for Escape from Tarkov is supposed to be released, we summarise the most important points for you here:

  • Loadout presets
  • Loot containers appear at random locations
  • Healing menu improvements
  • Quick change to sidearm
  • Expansion of the map Streets of Tarkov
  • New weapons: SVT, PKM, AK-12, Sawed-Off, PM pistol and new weapon mods
  • New boss named Kaban

In addition to these new features and content, according to the Russian developers, you can also expect numerous changes to the balancing, recoil mechanics and AI behaviour.

Autumn/Winter Update

Between August and December, another major update is to follow, which will once again bring a host of exciting new features:

  • Armor customisation with armour plates
  • Vautling or Climbing
  • Weapon Mounting
  • BTR armoured vehicle on streets of Tarkov
  • Lightkeeper-Dealer
  • Shoulder Swapping
  • New weapons: RPD, SCAR GL, SIG Spear, 9A91, VSK-94
  • New Boss
  • Achievement System

Besides these changes, for which there is a concrete date, you can look forward to many desired features. Among other things, a new version of the Unity Engine, better performance, a new matchmaking system and an improved anti-cheat system will be waiting for you by the end of the year.
